INTRODUCTION: |
APP ( Atactic Polypropylene) modified Bitumen reinforced membranes are produced from a blend of special polypropylene thermoplastic polymers and distilled Bitumen. This combination gives the proven waterproofing qualities of bitumen combined with plasticity, excellent resistance to heat, ageing and weathering and ease of application by torch welding
Tar sheet membranes offer total impermeability to water, outstanding bond ability, seam lean integrity, easy repair and maintenance. |
DESCRIPTION: |
TAR SHEET-BT are range of modified bitumen membranes with a reinforcement of rot proof, dimensionally stable 50-60 gsm glass matt. The inlay is positioned with in a matrix of bitumen modified with a special blend of polypropylene thermoplastics polymers (APP). |
USES: |
Generally recommended as the first, or a base layer of multilayer specification, and belowground. It is used a totally inert rot proof membrane is required. |

APPLICATION: |
Application of Tar sheet may vary slightly depending upon site conditions. Apply Tuff coat Primer to a clean smooth and dry surface by brush, roller spray. Tar sheet is installed by torch welding method laid of fully bonded to substrate. |
GENERAL GUIDE LINES FOR TORCHING: |
The underside of the membrane should be torched just enough to superficially melt the Bitumen. Excessive heating may damage the reinforcement. Overlaps should be reheated from the top and released with trowel to ensure seams integrity.
All angles and abutment should be sealed with extra care to ensure full bondage. Seal the edges well into grooves and protect with relevant sealant. |
